    H.S. lacrosse: Stonington girls beat Waterford 17-11 in ECC D-II play

    Stonington — Stonington took sole possession of first place in Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II play in girls' lacrosse with a 17-11 win over Waterford on Thursday night.

    Kate Johnson had five goals and two assists, Emma Sabbadini and Hannah Lamb had four goals and an assist each and Kathryn Logel had three goals and two assists for the Bears (6-1, 2-0), who led 13-7 at halftime.

    Grace Briggs and Olivia Gianakos scored four goals each for Waterford (3-4, 1-1).

    In other games:

    • Lydia Tinnerello scored seven goals as Old Lyme outlasted Morgan 9-8 in the Shoreline Conference. Anna Sather and Bella Arias each added a goal for the Wildcats and goalie Hayden Saunders made 12 saves.

    • Mackenzie Ullrich had five goals and three assists to lead Montville to an easy 17-3 win over Killingly in an ECC Division III game. Alexis DeLucia added three goals for the Indians (6-1, 3-0) while Maddie Gould had two goals and one assist, Grace Sanford and Maddie Koning each scored twice, and Jasmine Swanson had a goal and an assist.

    • Hannah Holmes scored three goals as Bacon Academy defeated Ledyard 5-2 in an ECC Division II game. Maddie Pipech scored both goals for the Colonels (2-5, 0-2), who were shut out in the second half, while Sabrina Mitchell had an assist and goalie Virginia McChesney made 15 saves.

    • Woodstock Academy rolled to a 12-3 victory over Norwich Free Academy in an ECC Division I game. Mackenzie Shrewsbury scored twice for the Wildcats (0-6, 0-1) while Maeve Jacobs added a goal and goalie Lily George made 10 saves.

    Boys

    • Caleb Holdridge had six goals and two assists as Waterford remained unbeaten with an 18-5 victory over Woodstock in an ECC Division I game. Mason LaForte added four goals for the Lancers (6-0, 2-0) while Jackson Alloway and Nate Houggy each had two goals and one assist, Kyle Jacobson had a goal and three assists, Peter Lincoln scored twice, and Alex Fayan had one goal and one assist.

    • Ryan Kinney scored four goals and Seth Hurt made 11 saves as Ledyard/Griswold outlasted Montville 10-8 in an ECC Division II game. Cameron Reynolds added two goals and three assists for the Colonels (4-2, 2-1) while Kaine Sherman had two goals and Jacob Foster had two assists. Sean Ventresca had three goals and two assists for the Indians (0-5, 0-3) while Derek Debbis scored three goals, Brandon Pedersen two and goalie Steve Turchetta made 18 saves.

    • Danny Benjamin's goal in overtime gave NFA a 7-6 victory over Fitch in an ECC Division I game. Benjamin finished with two goals and two assists for the Wildcats (2-4, 1-2) while Nolan Brown scored three goals and Sam Sweeney made 11 saves in goal.

    • Cameron Gouvia and Scott Pion scored two goals each as St. Bernard/Wheeler beat Stonington 9-2 in an ECC Division II game. Billy Niles had two goals and an assist, Cameron Riley had a goal and an assist and Zach Spiers had two assists for the Saints (5-2, 2-1).
