    H.S. roundup: Fitch boys finish perfect in ECC Division II soccer

    Waterford — Fitch capped a perfect Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II boys' soccer season with a 3-1 win over Waterford on Monday.

    The Falcons improved to 8-0 in the conference, 11-3 overall.

    Sebastian Duffy and Caleb Robbins each scored a goal in the first eight minutes to hand the Falcons a 2-0 edge. Eric Leuchner also scored for Fitch and Alex Delcampo added an assist. Goalie Ramiro Zavala had six saves.

    Nikko Zingus scored for the Lancers (4-8-1, 3-4) off an assist from Alex Ard. 

    In other matches:

    • Ledyard erupted for three goals during a five-minute span in the second half and the Colonels went on to defeat Bacon Academy 4-0 in an ECC Division II match. Nick Washington scored twice for the Colonels (10-2, 5-2), including one where he was able to dance his way through four defenders and scored from 10 yards out. Elliott Smith and Ben Fieldsend also scored from Ledyard and senior Noah Cayangyang picked up his first career assist on senior day. Goalie Blake McLeod made six saves for the Colonels.

    • Montville and Griswold battled to 0-0 tie in Division III action. Isaiah Gallagher made seven saves for the Indians (7-3-3, 3-2-3), who were outshot 10-6.

    • Avery Welch scored a goal and added an assist in Old Lyme's 3-0 shutout of Haddam-Killingworth in Shoreline Conference action. Michael Milazzo and Angus Tresnan also added goals while Anders Silberberg had an assist and goalies Ryan Tetreault and Jonah Lathrop combined for seven saves for the Wildcats (6-3-3, 4-3-3).

    • Geo Solis scored the tie-breaking goal four minutes into the second half to lift Wilcox Tech to a 2-1 win over Norwich Tech in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Tyler Nadeau, assisted by Kenny McKenna, scored for the Warriors in the 29th minute.

    Volleyball

    • Sophie Dubreuil had 20 digs and 16 kills for East Lyme in a 3-1 win over Valley Regional. Game scores were 25-17, 23-25, 25-16 and 25-18. Mya Delesdernier chipped in 14 digs and 29 kills for the Vikings (9-8) while Ellie Meredith had 39 assists and Nina Sheehan added 18 digs.

    • Marlo Sims contributed 21 digs and Karly Morales added 26 assists for Fitch in a 3-1 win over Waterford. Game scores were 22-25, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-16. Nora Ryan had 10 kills and five blocks for the Falcons (10-5). Ryleigh Gonyo finished with 18 kills and 14 digs while Angela Colonis had 18 digs and Sabrina Kobyluck had 32 assists for the Lancers (11-4).

    • Maya Conley had 24 digs and nine kills in Norwich Free Academy's 3-1 loss to Lyman Memorial. Game scores were 24-26, 25-16, 25-15 and 25-19. Sarah Ericson had 28 assists and 10 digs while Kaylee Williams added seven kills for the Wildcats (5-10). Helen Megson led Lyman with 22 kills and 13 digs.

    • Samarie Delgado had 11 kills, 10 aces and 15 service points in Grasso Tech's 3-1 loss to O'Brien Tech. Game scores were 25-10, 25-20, 18-25 and 25-19. 

    • Maddie Cann had 10 digs and four kills for Old Lyme in a 3-0 Shoreline Conference loss to Hale Ray. Game scores were 25-14, 25-14 and 25-23. Taylor Thompson had nine digs and six kills and Isabel Dean-Frazier had 14 assists for the Wildcats (2-15).
