    Sinko, Babbitt lead Wildcat girls, 93.5-56.5

    Ledyard - Amy Sinko and Yana Babbitt each won a pair of individual events as Norwich Free Academy rolled to a 93.5-56.5 victory over Ledyard on Tuesday in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division girls' track and field meet.

    Sinko won the 200-meter race (27.3 seconds) and 400 (60.4), and also ran a leg of the winning 4x800 relay team for the Wildcats (4-0, 2-0). Babbitt, meanwhile, captured the discus (77 feet, 1 inch) and javelin (92-11).

    Wahnetah Carty captured the long jump (14-8) and 100 (13.1) for the Colonels (2-2, 0-2).

    In other meets:

    â–  Megan Chapman (discus, javelin) and Liz Hutchins (1,600, 3,200) each won two events during Stonington's 113-31 loss to Windham in the ECC Medium Division. The Bears are 0-4, 0-3.

    â–  Sarah Lamotte won the 200 (30.0) and high jump (4-6) while Molly Frankinburger captured the 1,600 (6:14) and 3,200 (13:54) as Lyman Memorial rolled to a 97-40 ECC Small Division win over Tourtellotte. The Bulldogs are 2-2, 2-0.

    Boys

    â–  Juan Melendez (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Cory Calamari (high jump, pole vault) and Phil Williams (long jump, triple jump) won two events apiece to help Fitch to a 109-41 win over East Lyme in the ECC Large. Melendez was also on the winning 4x400-meter relay team for Fitch (5-0, 3-0). Brian Ciezynski won the shot put and the discus for the Vikings (2-3, 0-2).

    â–  Lyman Memorial's Tyson Laume, Steve Truax, Caleb Ossuniyi and Dan Shenkle team up to win the 4x400 relay as the Bulldogs pulled out a 70-68 victory over Tourtellotte in the ECC Small Division. Dan Fields won the 1,600 and 3,200 for the Bulldogs (2-2, 2-0) while Laume won the 110 high hurdles, Truax the 800 and Adam Weslowski the javelin.
