HK Cross-Country Enjoys the Home Cooking

The Haddam-Killingworth cross-country team certainly enjoys running at home. The Cougars hosted a meet against Shoreline Conference foes Old Saybrook, Old Lyme, Valley Regional, and Morgan on Oct. 4 with the boys finishing first overall and the girls coming in third.

The boys' overall finish was propelled by sewing up places four through 10. Mattias Geraghty came in fourth with a time of 16:57.13, followed by Peter Brandon in fifth (16:57.48), Drew Sodergren in sixth (16:57.91), Brendan Walsh in seventh (16:58.56), Eric Davidson in eighth (16:59.61), Steve Bogdan in ninth (17:01), and Luke Gersz in 10th (17:15).

The girls had three top-11 finishers, leading them to a third-place finish. Menalie Hyde finished seventh with a time of 21:13.05, followed by Megan Tischbein in 10th (20:22.55), Allison Rodman in 11th (20:26.50), Taylor Schultz in 25th (23:14.62), and Rachel Roberts in 26th (24:03.35).
