    Town: Groton

    Directions: Take I-95 to Exit 88 and head south on Route 117. At intersection with Route 1 (Fort Hill Rd.) make a left. In about 3/4 mile, bear right on to Groton Long Point Rd. Property is about 3/4 mile on left. Turn in driveway at mailbox number 360.

    Where to Park: There is room for 3-4 cars along the driveway before the trailhead.

    Description: An 88-acre property owned by the town, this wide, unmarked trail is a former road, leading to a horse farm on private property. The flat trail is out-and-back, about .4 miles each way and would be an easy walk for children.

    Regulations: Dogs must be on leash.

    Amenities: None.

    Natural Features: Woodlands; runs parallel to wetlands and Eccleston Brook

    Fees: Free.

    Things to note: Please respect the private property at the beginning and end of the trail.

    The trail is an old road, and is wide and flat.
    An old rock wall alongside the trail.
    A chipmunk scampers among the rocks.
    Fresh deer tracks were spotted in the soft ground next to the trail.
    The trail ends at a horse farm. Please respect private property.
    The trailhead is marked by a thin wire gate.
