All over the country weapons are entering our schools for the purpose of mass shootings. The time has come for single point access with a resource officer in view of all students entering our schools.

I think it’s time to look at all backpacks, brief cases any carry-on items, providing X-Ray scanners and metal detectors for students to walk through. Firearms and ammunition have no place in our schools. Students have the right to feel safe.

I worked at a place in Waterford where each and everything we carried into work was X-Rayed and we walked through metal detectors. It didn't take long to enter the facility.

It’s going to be expensive to purchase this equipment, but it can save lives and that’s what is important.
