    NPU commissioners failed accountability test

For two years since the Derbygate the Board of Directors at CMEEC and the Norwich Public Utilities Commission have buried their heads in the sand and did nothing. When the newly appointed Norwich Public Utility commissioners took office I testified before them and requested that General Manager John Bilda be removed and that a forensic audit be conducted being that, if Bilda thought nothing of taking $1.2 million from CMEEC for Derby and other trips, what was to say he would not take NPU for a ride as well. My request fell upon deaf ears.

For two years Bilda, CMEEC CEO Drew Rankin and CFO Edward Pryor have been collecting salaries well over $190,000 per year. Bilda has been found guilty of ethics violations and the coverup of sexual harassment of Jim Sullivan and nothing has been done. If Day Staff Writer Claire Bessette did not keep reporting the trips would still be taking place. The NPU commissioners have failed to protect ratepayers and they should all be removed from office.
