I would like to commend Paul Choiniere for his column, “Formica feeds the hand that bit,” (Feb. 3), recognizing all of the many significant contributions Senator Paul Formica has made to New London. In embracing leadership by bringing all parties involved to the table, he began a process of compromise that will hopefully lead to a more inclusive, and lucrative, role for New London in the Port Authority's management of the city pier. Formica's commitment to the best interests of every community he represents (what a concept!) gives me new faith in the democratic process.
