Catala not using tax money in New London election

On Feb. 26 there will be a crucially important special election in New London. The four candidates in the race have clear distinctions. Three of the four candidates are using large amounts of money to get elected. These three candidates are using a total of $56,000 of our tax dollars. This is a lot of money for a short time frame special election. And we wonder why the state is in such disarray for funds.

Jason Catala is the only candidate not taking state money to run for an office that he is best qualified for. I am a former New London resident and would not support any candidate who uses state funding. Basically the three candidates have this large sum of money to spend in 10 days. Jason is only taking donations from hard-working individuals and putting in his own money. He chose not to participate in this election finance program and I thank him for that. I thank him for his service over the past 20-plus years. No candidate in this race has a longer service record.

No candidate knows the needs of the 39th District like Jason. On Feb. 26, I encourage those in the 39th District to vote for Jason Catala!
