My first message to our city is please vote in the special election on Feb. 26. Nothing threatens our system of self-governance more than an electorate so apathetic it cannot spare the short amount of time it might take to vote.

My second message is please consider closely and compare the resumes of the four candidates. One candidate stands out, Anthony Nolan. He has protected and served our country in the military. He has protected and served our community as a police officer. He has represented all of us as a four-term city councilor. He has served as a role model and mentor to our children. His many dedicated years of public service leaves him towering above the others in a crowded field.

I am proud to have shared my years in elected office working side by side with Anthony Nolan. He is the candidate who will bring the deepest understanding of our city and its needs to Hartford. I urge you to vote for Anthony Nolan and send an effective voice for New London to Hartford.
