Make Democrats pay at ballot box for their pursuit of tolls

Our brilliant governor and Democrat legislators think it will be a windfall to erect tolls on Connecticut highways. We are told that we will get $800 million from these tolls, and 30 percent of that will come from out-of-state drivers. What a wonderful way to get more money for our increasingly costly government.

The problem is that of the $800 million that will be raised by tolls, 70 percent or $560 million of that total will come from our own state drivers!

I am blinded by your brilliance Democrats; the $560 million in new income will be paid by residents of the state. Businesses will have to raise prices to cover the increased cost of these tolls (really a tax all drivers will be paying). Governor Lamont has said he will give state drivers a discount. Well, I remember that the state sales tax was imposed “for a short time” to pay Connecticut veterans a bonus for serving. I am still waiting for that tax to disappear.

Good luck in the next election, Democrats, I hope enough people will remember this government scam next time they vote.

Do you believe that our representatives in Hartford are looking out for you and your family?
