Lester political cartoon fostered a falsehood
Mike Lester's political cartoon on July 1, 2019, depicting Democrats throwing driver's licenses to a crowd of "illegal" aliens with the caption: "You're giving them Driver's Licenses? Sure. How do you expect them to get to the polls?" is more troublesome than amusing.
I hate to sound humorless here, but these are tough times for immigrants and one of the gripes I hear on a daily basis is that immigration is a tactic used by Democrats to increase their base and get more votes. This is simply untrue. To set the record straight: Undocumented immigrants cannot vote, documented residents with legal permanent residencies cannot vote. Only United States citizens can vote legally in the United States.
