All our lives, we have known the phrase "monumental stupidity," and now I have seen the most perfect example of my long life. Imagine a candidate who loses an election. Instead of planning how to gain more friends and win the re-match, he retaliates and spites all the voters in his town. Only the endless jokes and mockery will keep him from being forgotten. I have been interested in business and development strategies since I was an adolescent, and I have never seen any act as backwards and self-defeating as what the Boardsen-Holstein group have just done. I will joyfully contribute to an actual monument at the south end of Mystic River Park to commemorate the fact that nothing valuable will ever be built on the adjoining property.
