Clearly Lamont doesn't care about southeastern Connecticut

−Our governor insists on tolling the Gold Star Bridge. It shows his total disregard for the military members stationed at the Submarine Base and Groton residents in general.

If you want to go to the mall, Best Buy, Target, Walmart Supercenter, BJs, or many chain restaurants you will have to pay. And most military won’t get a Connecticut EZ Pass because of their limited time here, so they won’t get the discounted rate.

The fact that Governor Lamont lied about his plan is bad enough, but to target our town, city and military − hitting an area that has more empty buildings than occupied ones because of Gov. Malloy’s tax increases over the previous eight years − just goes to show you Lamont has no concern for our part of the state.

And for those who believe he won’t work to get the remaining tolls installed once the ones he has chosen get approved, you are sadly in for a rude awakening I fear.

The exodus will continue from this state under this administration. Those who remain will be forced to pay more taxes, new taxes, and higher taxes as Lamont drives residents and businesses out or out of business.

    Jerry Guiser
