Waterford should send Democrats, both well qualified, to Hartford

Vote Democratic on Nov. 3. It is time to send a nurse to the state Senate and a teacher to the House of Representatives. There is going to be a great deal of attention on the presidential race, but please remember the down-ballot vote for state Senate and House. The Democratic Party is running two well qualified candidates who will work for you in Hartford.

Martha Marx deals with patients daily as a visiting nurse and is in touch with the pulse of the 20th District. She is a former New London councilor. She has worked with business and is an officer of AFT Connecticut. She will be an effective legislator in Hartford.

Baird Welch-Collins is a teacher in the Lebanon School District. He has been an effective member of the Waterford Representative Town Meeting. His decisions on the RTM have been thoughtful and well researched. He is a strong advocate for his beliefs and is not afraid to “buck the party” if he believes it is making an incorrect decision.

Think about who you want to be your voice in Hartford and vote accordingly and vote Democratic. Your vote is important.

    J. W. “Bill” Sheehan

Waterford Board of Finance and Democratic Town Committee member
