Time for change, time for Welch-Collins in 38th District

This year Waterford and Montville have the opportunity to elect Baird Welch-Collins as their state representative and bring back to the 38th District the leadership it deserves. He is challenging Rep. Kathleen McCarty for the second time.

Baird Welch-Collins is an excellent candidate for office. He has the ability to bring a leadership position in the General Assembly back to the 38th district, something we have not had these past six years and which will be critical as we work to rebuild our state economy, reopen schools, and strengthen the public health system.

He is young, energetic, articulate and most of all, passionate about good government in a time of challenge. His service on Waterford’s RTM shows him to be thoughtful and thorough in determining how to best support the town.

Last time, there was no public debate between the two. McCarty was unable to agree to a date, although several were offered. This year, The Day is not holding any debates for state representative races, making it four years since McCarty has had to publicly defend her record. It is harder than ever for voters to know the candidates.

Support our towns by voting for Baird Welch-Collins.

    Betsy Ritter
