Don't tie dogs to bicycles
I cannot help but keep reflecting on the sight of people riding their bikes with their dogs tied to the bike and having to keep up with them. The dogs can never slow down even a bit or they will be dragged.
I recently witnessed a couple riding with their dog as such in Crescent Beach. The man had the dog tied to his bike and was riding at a very fast pace. It was a very small dog, a Labradoodle. It was having a hard time trying to keep up.
I do not understand how this is legal, but I have talked to animal control and apparently they can do nothing about it.
It is animal cruelty, and these people obviously have no concern for their dogs. It is like hooking a human up to an automobile and asking them to keep up. Maybe the owner should try it sometime.

I confidently support the re-election of Rep. Devin Carney. He has served our district very well since being elected. He is well read on the issues that are important to our district and to the state of Connecticut as a whole. He is reasonable, personable, moderate and open-minded. It is too bad...
Often, it seems as if Republicans and Democrats have nothing in common but disdain for one another. Voters expect the usual disagreements between the parties that highlight differing philosophies, but this political season the differences seem rooted in emotions rather than agendas and...

We have an opportunity to send a true advocate to the House in the 37th District, Cate Steel. Holly Cheeseman has shown herself to be very adept at saying "no." She voted "no" to reform campaign finance and reduce the “dark money” pouring into campaigns (2017 House Bill...
