In the 23rd District, I am encouraging everyone to support state Rep. Devin Carney for re-election. Devin has always stood up for Lyme and Old Lyme and been a voice against government overreach and higher taxes. Look no further than Devin’s fights against forced school regionalization or the federal railroad administration’s high-speed rail proposal to see how much he advocates for our small towns. We deserve to have a strong voice at the Capitol and Devin has been there every step of the way.

Devin has worked incredibly hard to stop a lot of tax proposals over the years. He opposed new taxes on groceries, veterinary services, accounting services, legal services, and home sales. He helped stop a proposal that would have raised the property taxes on cars in Lyme and Old Lyme. As ranking member of the Transportation Committee, he got legislation through to prevent a mileage tax. Imagine being taxed by the mile? This is the type of dedication and service we need.

I cannot think of someone who has worked harder for us over the years and I hope voters will join me in supporting him this year for re-election.
