Shocking that event honoring veterans disrupted over politics
After reading, "Protestors interrupt string of political events," written by Sten Spinella (Aug. 27), I was embarrassed and shocked that a veteran interrupted a ceremony honoring Vietnam War veterans. From his actions and attire, I believe his appearance was political.
Having retired from the military (serving over 21 years), I don't believe politics and serving in the military go together. For over 21 years I served my country, not a politician.
When joining the military, you take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States − not a politician.
That individual was an embarrassment to the Vietnam War veterans, the VFW, and other veterans.
