The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not allow cadets to be parents. They had a cadet who became one, and they chucked him out.

Seriously?

This is an outfit that we taxpayers bankroll.

I am pretty sure it is not that way if you want to join the Army, the Navy, the Air Force. Does the Coast Guard know something the other uniformed services do not know? Or are they from some planet where being a parent routinely disqualifies you from pursuing your career?

Big surprise: they instituted the rule as soon as they started admitting women.

This is sick.
