Ledyard board concerned about wrong posts
I was shocked while reading the article about social media and the P&Z alternate appointment, “P&Z alternate appointment in Ledyard becomes controversial,” (Jan. 18). The writer of the article gave the impression that expressing views on Facebook about affordable housing was on the same caliber as having Facebook posts referencing the Oath Keepers, the three percenters, and depicting an image that says “Muslim Scull Crusher” as a profile picture. One is a concern for the less fortunate, one is racist, misogynistic propaganda. What is worse is that the Republicans did not even consider Terry Ault’s posts to be an issue.
Maybe this type of behavior is what is causing people to move from this area in droves. They have seen firsthand the problems here. My husband and I recently switched from Republicans to Democrats due to recent Republican behavior. Remember Republicans, fewer voters equal fewer votes.
