Sibling says sick days nonissue for Passero

First, I am not a resident of New London but being born there and working in various areas of commerce the city will always be my hometown. I volunteer three days a week at the New London Area Food Pantry. On a recent morning I was excited to get my daily rituals out of the way so I could watch the replay of New London mayoral debate.

I am not going to even get involved with the mudslinging from Mayor Finizio. I will say, though, that I certainly would never be a candidate for any office. I don't think I could keep my composure with other candidates. Second, after working 17 years at Electric Boat, sick time is earned by longevity. I was never asked by the company to provide proof of my illness. The same with vacation days that are usually in a labor contract negotiation.

My brother, Michael Passero, has more integrity than almost anyone I know. Even in my darkest hour he has never abandoned me. Michael has accomplished everything he has promised. The difference between my brother and his opponent is that Mike will work on the issues of the city and not on his personal agenda.

    K. Patrick Passero
