UConn women criticism was out of line
It amazes me how differently two people can see one situation ("UConn women champs disrespectful to opponent," April 17).
Rather than demonstrating disrespect, in my view the photo on the front of the Day, depicting the pure joy and excitement of the University of Connecticut's women's basketball team when senior Briana Pulido made the last two points of the NCAA finals, demonstrated what an incredibly close and unselfish team this is.
When Pulido, who gave her support, time and loyalty to the team for very few minutes of play at the end of some games, made the final basket of her final year, I thought it was wonderful — and so did the team. Now Pulido can go off to medical school with that last few minutes of fame behind her.
