A valuable lesson learned in civics class

Where did the info come from?

Ah, Tony Donut. He was a short, roundish fellow who taught my civics class back (way back) at Pearl River High School, Pearl River, New York. His actual name was Anthony Corolla, and we students liked him, although we could not resist using our nickname for him when he was not around. He was a good guy and a good teacher, good natured and fair, who worked diligently to teach us what it meant to be informed citizens in a democracy. In lesson after lesson, he reminded us: when information comes your way, ask yourself — where did this come from? Why? What did whoever provided it want me to think, or do?

Maybe the folks who genuinely believe that the election was stolen from Donald Trump, and who remain ready to fight, simply never had — or at least never listened to — a teacher like Tony Donut.
