Thirty-eight years ago we built our house on Route 12 in Gales Ferry. I put a mailbox up at the end of my driveway. My electrician installed a posted driveway light. Since then, I have replaced my mailbox seven times and my driveway light three times, all at my expense.

It is either a snowplow, state mowers or uninsured motorists. They are not insured, and the state says the box and light are on their property. What am I supposed to do, move my mailbox and light halfway up my driveway? All I am asking for is for people to be responsible for the damage they cause. I was never brought up to ignore my actions. Step up, everyone!
