    Leave it to the DOJ

The 5th and 6th Amendments lay out explicit protections for the accused. Centuries of case law exists to protect the accused and allow a fair trial. The Jan. 6 hearings are a gross violation of this. They are not in search of justice. If Trump committed a crime, let the DOJ bring charges. However, to use government power to present only one side, with no standard of evidence, is a misuse of government power.

Imagine if you were accused of a crime and months before charges were brought, the government presented professionally edited videos, in prime time, showing how guilty you were with no means of defending yourself. How could you ever receive a fair trial?

This hearing is not about finding justice because if the evidence were adequate, one would hope the DOJ would bring charges.

If you want real justice, the DOJ should have been the only agency investigating and if a crime were committed, a jury would be responsible for determining guilt. These hearings are political theater and have no interest in justice.
