On Nov. 8, I will be supporting Sen. Heather Somers (18th Griswold, Groton, Sterling, Voluntown, Stonington, North Stonington, Plainfield, and Preston). As our district continues to grow, we need a champion like Heather in Hartford.

She knows that healthcare and medical choices should be respected - across the board. Senator Somers is fully committed to protecting our democracy. She supports a clear pathway to protecting it. She is a strong advocate for her constituents in Hartford, even when the issue is not politically popular.

I admire Somer’s commitment to Senate District 18; she was firmly opposed to the continuation of Governor Lamont’s extended emergency powers. It was Senator Somers who listened to the concerned parents of Senate District 18 when their children began to fall behind during the shutdowns. It was her that stood up for District 18 employees and small business owners when they faced pandemic challenges.

Senator Somers has proven time and time again that she is a voice for all of her constituents in Hartford. That is why Somers will get my vote on Nov. 8 and I hope she will get yours too.
