Uncasville residents pray for no snow

The noise at the salt facility is real and it affects everyone living in range of this facility, “Montville residents concerned over noise, trucking at new salt facility,” (Jan. 10).

I live less than three miles from this facility, up on Sharps Hill, and have been awakened more than once from the “clanging” and "banging" coming from this facility during the early morning hours. As loud as it is here up on Sharps Hill, I can only imagine what those poor folks living near this facility are dealing with.

If it is this disturbing now, how much worse it will be when all the dump trucks from southeastern Connecticut line up for sand? Our only hope is that it does not snow this winter, or ever again. As long as this facility exists, noise will be a problem for those of us living nearby. It is sad that we do not have zoning regulations to control this because noise is just another form of pollution.
