Mystic growth needs to be questioned
Lawyers for applicants hoping to build in Mystic always seem to convince our environmental commissions that no harm will be done.
Now, the last wetland in Old Mystic that impacts the neighborhood and the river will be destroyed.
Isn’t it past time we realized we are a coastal town and need to be proactive in protecting ourselves from rising water?
Perhaps the purposes and agendas of our commissions need review and redo.
The economic benefit of further building should be better balanced against the needs climate change demands.
Growth needs to be questioned and certainly curtailed in areas that threaten the common good.
