State finally dealing with wrong-way drivers

I am more than pleased to see action is being taken against wrong-way drivers. (“Governor Ned Lamont launches campaign to decrease wrong way crashes,” March 10.)

It has been a long time coming with a 500% increase. I wrote a few letters in the past to The Day on this issue and have been waiting for the state to step up. Did it take the untimely death of a state representative to change things?

Now, to the electrical portion and the cost-effective way of doing things, the state needs to add blue lights to the back side of these red signs, as we are already there running wires and that is where the cost effectiveness comes in. Finally, the state is heading in the right direction. $20 million can go a long way in starting to fix this serious issue and if there is a cost overrun so be it SAFETY FIRST.
