For some politicians, the time has come to retire

You have to be at least 30 years old to become a United States Senator and at least 35 years old to become President. There are close to 200 million Americans who fall into this demographic. However, if President Biden is nominated and re-elected, he will be 86 at the end of his term; and Mr. Trump, if elected, will be 83. Currently, Senator Feinstein is 89, and refuses to resign even though she has impaired health and cognitive issues.

It is a fact that normal aging affects your memory and thought processes. It is why most corporations have a mandatory age limit for service on a Board Of Directors. There are no age limits for Congress and the President. At what age do these octogenarians cross a line that deprives millions of Americans of competent leadership and even the possibility of becoming a national security risk? Isn't it time that we thank these elderly political leaders for their service and tell them it is time to say goodbye? From the ranks of the 200 million eligible adults there must be better choices.
