An All-Star player for the Sun

All Star? I have played college basketball and coached both high school and college basketball. I have seen many games as a spectator and appreciate effort and energy. The new game of basketball loves the 3-pointer and the slam dunker. They both are exciting. I, myself, love the hard working blue-collar players who go all out and care more about winning than their own individual statistics. Alyssa Thomas is such a player.

She is the hardest working player I have ever seen. You won't see her shooting a 3 or pulling up for the mid-range jumper. Her right hand set shot is good inside 12 feet. She just does everything else well. She defends, leads the break, rebounds, and gives out assists to the tune of almost averaging a triple double for every game. She deserves to be an All Star starter as much as Stewie and A'ja.

If you haven't seen any Connecticut Sun games, you are missing out on seeing a person who really loves playing basketball. We are lucky to have the Sun and the UConn Huskies so close by. Great basketball with players who really care.
