    Groton deserves better government

After its managerial and political shenanigans, Groton government finds itself back at the crossroads, yet again. The Groton Independents, created in response to the existing mess, provides Groton’s voters with an alternative to the floundering establishment. It’s time to elect candidates to the Town Council who possess a responsible perspective and the capacity for independent thinking. Charter candidates of the Groton Independents are moderates who represent the full range of registered political affiliations and have had the courage to stand up and challenge the status quo.

They are Genevieve Cerf, current RTM member and former town councilor; Bill Furgueson, current HDC member; Lauren Gauthier, current member of the RTM and State Contracting Standards Board; Bruce McDermott, current member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Beautification Committee and former Chair, Board of Education; and Scott Westervelt, current town councilor. Their campaign theme is “Groton deserves better.” It does and we do!

By voting for these candidates on Nov. 7, your vote can truly make a difference to the democratic process in Groton in the short and long term. Let the memory of Groton good government live again!
