Support legislation that reduces carbon emissions and pollution

I am a Connecticut constituent and voter who is concerned about democracy, clean air and climate change. I am writing to urge every member of the Regulation Review Committee to do your duty and vote YES on Nov. 28, for the regulations concerning Low Emission Vehicles IV and Advanced Clean Car II. These regulations further implement the 2004 legislation "An Act Concerning Clean Cars." The purpose of the committee is solely to ensure that regulations fulfill the intended act, and do not violate the Constitution or laws. The attorney general has already decreed that the regulations are not in violation of current laws or state constitution.

Moreover, the original legislation explicitly states that the regulations may accord with those of California, which is exactly what the proposed regulations have mandated. Therefore, committee members must do their duty and vote YES, regardless of whether they agree with the regulation. Voting NO would bypass the democratic process, as state voters overwhelmingly support legislation that reduces carbon emissions and pollution, and voted for legislators who passed legislation addressing these concerns. Committee members: Vote YES.
