I am writing to express my strong support for Senate Bill 7, which aims to guarantee paid sick days for all Connecticut workers. This legislation is essential for the well-being of our communities.

State Sen. Martha Marx, with her background in nursing, understands firsthand the importance of paid sick leave. Her support for this bill underscores its significance in ensuring everyone's health and safety. As a middle school teacher, I've witnessed firsthand the struggles of parents who are forced to send their sick children to school because they cannot afford to take a day off work without pay. This is not only detrimental to the health of the child but also poses a risk to the entire community. Senate Bill 7 will provide much-needed relief to workers who currently lack access to paid sick leave, allowing them to prioritize their health and the health of their loved ones without fear of financial repercussions.

It's time for Connecticut to join the states recognizing paid sick leave as a fundamental human right. I urge all our legislators to support Senate Bill 7 and ensure all workers have the safety they deserve.
