    Governments cause inflation

President Biden and the Federal Trade Commission are blaming the wrong CEOs for stubbornly high inflation. Instead, the president should blame the state, city and town elected officials who are increasing their budgets by more than the 3.2% rate of inflation. These include Groton (6.1%), East Lyme (4.68%) and Stonington (12.44%) in the local area, and many more throughout Connecticut and the nation.

Politicians don't just respond to increases in inflation — they cause them. And the recent articles about the overwhelmingly Democrat Connecticut Senate and House trying to find "ways around" the state budget spending caps show that the problem will continue.
