As per the article in The Day, “Zoning commissioner resigns,” (Elizabeth Regan, April 18) concerning Dr. Pivo dropping off the East Lyme Zoning Committee, it would seem that all expertise on the committee has “left the building.” This is consistent with the chairwoman’s efforts to stay with comfortable, known members and to stay the course with respect to building and development in East Lyme. For example, recently a longtime architect volunteered to take an alternate position and was summarily dismissed in favor of another real estate agent. What exactly is she afraid of? Someone who actually knows what they are doing? And don’t get me started about the chairwoman (unelected) and the illegal board member (from the last election). Citizens of East Lyme have been ignored at the ballot box and bullied by developers because someone’s feelings were hurt when that person lost in the last election. We deserve better.
