    Local college roundup: T-More tops Navy Prep

    Conn College's Taylor Hanson shoots over Wentworth's Keenan Burke-Pitts during college men's basketball action Tuesday night at Luce Fieldhouse in New London. Hanson had six points, nine rebounds and five assists in the Camels' 66-52 victory.

    Montville - St. Thomas More built an early 26-4 lead and held on to defeat Navy Prep, 93-85, in a men's basketball game on Tuesday.

    Roy Mabrey led the Chancellors (6-1) with 17 points and six assists while Indiana Faithfull added 15 points and seven rebounds. Also, Damion Lee had 15 points and five assists and Adam Jones finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.

    In other games:

    • Matt Vadas scored 16 points and Connecticut College shot 54 percent from the field in the second half to pull away from Wentworth Institute, 66-52. Rob Harrigan added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Camels (4-3). Wentworth is 2-5.

    • Chris Hanson and Jonathan Smalls each scored 12 points as Daniel Webster beat Mitchell, 68-53, in the New England Collegiate Conference opener for both schools. Julio Contreras had a game-high 20 points for the Mariners (1-8, 0-1) and Paul Jefferson added 14 points.

    Women's basketball

    • Becca Kimball had 13 of her game-high 20 points in the first half as Wellesley handed Coast Guard its fourth straight loss, 60-39, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference game. Wellesley is 6-1, 3-0. Larla Brown had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Bears (2-6, 0-3) and Allison Majcher added eight points and six rebounds.

    • Alexandra Lanieri had 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals as Roger Williams beat Conn College in overtime, 65-58. Tara Gabelman had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Camels (2-6) and Jennifer Shinall had 17 points.

    Men's hockey

    • Jordan Gray scored twice for Conn College in a 3-2 loss to Manhattanville. Mike Petchonka had 29 saves for the Camels (2-3).

    Women's hockey

    • Nicola Garat scored three goals to lead Holy Cross over Conn College, 4-2. Courtney Dumont assisted twice for the Camels (3-4), on a first-period goal by Caroline Corbett and a second-period score by Olivia Farrell.
