Coast Guard softball eliminated from NCAA tournament

Mansfield — The season came to end for the Coast Guard Academy softball team Sunday afternoon.
The Bears lost to host Eastern Connecticut State 5-4 in eight innings in a losers’ bracket game in the NCAA Div. III tournament Mansfield Regional.
Hayley Feindel (21-10) pitched an eight-hitter, but surrendered a fifth-inning grand slam to ECSU’s Molly Rathbun. Holli Bastinck and Kaitlin Ward homered for Coast Guard.
