The National Park Service is offering free tickets to the National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Washington through an online lottery.
This year's Christmas tree lighting is scheduled for Dec. 9 in front of the White House. The president traditionally lights the tree.
The ticket lottery is now open and runs through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. The Park Service will hand out 3,000 tickets for seats and 10,000 standing-room tickets on the Internet, and tickets will be mailed to the lottery winners.
Tickets are required for all who attend.
