    Public meeting on Sandy Point

    Stonington - The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service invites the public to a meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Stonington Community Center to learn about the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Avalonia Land Conservancy and the Fish & Wildlife Service.The memorandum concerns the conservancy's management of Sandy Point, a barrier beach located in Stonington and Westerly. Under the agreement, the service would manage Sandy Point as a unit of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, which has its headquarters in Westbrook.
