16 Students Earn Scholarships

People's United Bank recently awarded individual scholarships of $1,000 to 16 local students to use toward college tuition. Dr. Jeremiah J. Lowney, Jr., a former People's United Bank director, and Dianne Kent, senior community relations specialist for the bank's Norwich/New London region, presented the awards.

Students who received scholarship awards are (pictured above): Keiry Rosario, New London High; Tiara White, Fitch Senior High; Tiraa Edwards, Ledyard High; Jennifer Weisenenburger, Griswold High; Kayla Hedman, Griswold High; Hannah Schenk, Waterford High; Kate Wu, Montville High, Skylar Bareford, Stonington High; Chelsea Dubreuil, Norwich Free Academy; Katrina Storrs, E.O. Smith; Camilla Lidonde, Academy of the Holy Family; Taylor Carpenter, Bacon Academy; Owen Killeen, Norwich Free Academy; Colin Ahern, St. Bernard; Jeffrey Sena, Norwich Technical; and Kevin Davis, Putnam High.
