Transport center ceremony is July 30

Norwich — The groundbreaking ceremony for the $22 million regional transportation center will be held Friday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at the Marina at American Wharf, across West Main Street from the project site.

The transportation center will be located at the corner of Falls Avenue and West Main Street and includes a three-story parking garage and main bus terminal for Southeast Area Transit. The Norwich Community Development Corp., which is overseeing the project, recently received all permits for the project and approved contracts with construction firms. The project is being funded with federal, state and local money.
