'Worm ladies' to visit Lyme Garden Club

Lyme - The Lyme Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. on March 8 at the Lyme Fire Company, at 213 Hamburg Road.

Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m., followed by the program "Worm Ladies - Nancy Warner & Lois Fulton" at 11 a.m.

The Worm Ladies, of Charlestown, R.I., will discuss how to use red wiggler worms (Eisenia fetida) to help reduce the amount of garbage that ends up in landfills. The worms eat the garbage, turning it into worm castings (worm poop) that can in turn feed gardens, lawns and houseplants.

Warner and Fulton raise and sell red wiggler worms to customers throughout New England.
