Preston's 2010 grand list
Preston -The 2010 grand list, the value of all taxable property in town, totals $451,688,224, an increase of $2 million or 0.04 percent compared to 2009. Assessor Mildred Peringer said the totals correct an over-calculation last year of projected tax revenue by $136,000. The majority of the increase came in real estate values, which increased by $2.05 million, or .5 percent. Motor vehicle values rose by $616,627, or 0.02 percent.
Personal property values dropped by $621,103 or 0.03 percent.
The town's top 10 taxpayers are:
1. Connecticut Light & Power, $8.35 million.
2. FirstLight Hydro Generating Co. (hydropower plant on Shetucket River), $3.75 million.
3. Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, $3.57 million.
4. Julia Tate Properties LLC (land on Route 2), $3.07 million.
5. Strawberry Park Resort Campground, Inc., $2.79 million.
6. Yankee Gas Services (natural gas line), $1.4 million.
7. William and Margaret Migliaccio (Hidden Acres Campground), $1.08 million.
8. Henry E. Watson (multiple properties), $1.02 million.
9. Green Falls Associates (multiple properties), $916,900.
10. Preston Business Park, Inc. (Route 2 property): $910,000.
