OL woman elected to CT Audubon Society

Christina Clayton of Old Lyme has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Audubon Society.

“Christina is a welcome addition to our board as she shares a passion for birding and the cause of conservation,” Bob Martinez, president of the Connecticut Audubon Society, said in a news release Wednesday. “From her legal background to her advocacy and extensive birding experience, I am excited about what Christina will bring to our organization and our commitment to conserve our priceless natural resources here in Connecticut.”

Clayton was elected during the society’s annual meeting last month.

Clayton worked in the office of general counsel at Xerox Corp. for 23 years, and from 2005 to 2010 employed her legal skills as a volunteer in Legal Services for Children Inc. in New York. She has served on the boards of the Old Lyme Land Trust and the Potopaug Audubon Society.

“Birding has been a passion of mine for many years,” she said. “It has enriched my life immeasurably.  Through birding, I became connected to the natural world and its wonders, and the cause of conservation.”
