    Two men arrested in Clinton home break-in

    Clinton police arrested two men today after they were confronted by a homeowner while stealing metal from the residence.

    The homeowner reportedly arrived at the residence at about 8 a.m. July 15 to complete some work and found one of the subjects, David Serfass, 28, of Westbrook, exiting the basement. Serfass and another subject, William Donovan, 22, of Westbrook, taking items from the basement and yard and loading them into Serfass' truck.

    The items included tools, aluminum and other metal items they could sell for scrap.

    The homeowner was able to get most of his belongings from the truck before the subjects left in the truck. The home owner obtained the registration plate which was provided to the 911 caller. The vehicle was pulled over a short time later and the subjects arrested.

    Both were charged with third degree burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary sixth degree larceny.

    Both men were released on bond and are scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on July 26.
