New London - US Coast Guard Academy staff observed a moment of silence after Second Class Cadet Colleen Patton, of New York, played Amazing Grace on the bagpipes outside Hamilton Hall Friday at 9:03 a.m. in memory of the second plane that hit the second World Trade Center tower during a morning of events recognizing the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
