Deep River's STEAP (Small Town Economic Association Project) grant was approved and announced to the townspeople by Governor Dannel Malloy at Town Hall on Dec. 21. Phase 5 of town improvements will continue further south, spanning from the intersection of Lafayette and Main streets to Union and Main streets, including the improvement of sidewalks and street lighting. Here, U.S. Representative Joe Courtney, Lisa Bibbiani, Robin O'Loughlin (obscured), and First Selectman Richard Smith applaud Malloy's annoucement.
