The committee organizing the 2012 Safe Grad event for Valley Regional High School graduates has been holding several fundraisers to help raise sufficient funds to underwrite this year's alcohol-free graduation night celebration. Support is still needed.

The committee's major fundraiser, a wine tasting, will be Friday, May 4 at the Lace Factory, 161 River Street, Deep River from 6 to 8 p.m. The communities of Chester, Deep River, and Essex are invited. The evening is sponsored by Centerbrook Package Store. Tickets are $25 per person and are available at Centerbrook Package Store, A Style Above, Celebrations, The French Hen, and Gather.
